Together with my childhood friend, Jerwin Santos, I had a blast interpeting the theme "Made In The Philippines." I rushed sketching my dry artwork (pen and ink) for the event for two hours because I came in only before lunch time when the registration opened as early as 8:00am.
I called my artwork For Keeps and Souvenirs because it shows what Philippine-made products are all about. As for Jerwin, he did something that contemplated on the situation after the typhoon that damaged the Visayan region last year.
We did not win the senior category but the experience was a trip to memory lane since, as grade school pupils, we were always the ones being sent by our school to on-the-spot painting contests. We even had then chance to visit Angono, Rizal on a field trip to get an immersion of the place as a haven for Philippine art.
